Keramiek Museum Princessehof, Leeuwarden

The urban residence was acquired by Landgravine Maria Louise of Hesse-Kassel, dowager of the Prince of Orange. The urban residence is a testimony to the Nassau family, which became the Orange-Nassau dynasty, being direct ancestors of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. In fact, all current reigning ancestors of Europe share Maria Louise and Johan Willem Friso as their mutual ancestors.
A ceramic mosaic - overlooking the Oldehoofsterkerkhof - pays tribute to these 2 illustrious ancestors of noble Europe.

The museum hosts a museum room, commemorating the residence's history and purpose. Additionally, one provides information about the Nassau- and Orange-Nassau dynasties. 1 museum room shows the residence's original interior when Maria Louise used to reside in the Princessehof. Only 1 facade commemorates the stables. Today, it is part of the museum as well.
