Koninklijke schouwburg - former urban palace of Nassau-Weilburg

Today, this urban palace hosts the Royal Theatre in The Hague. Originally, Charles Christian, Prince of Nassau-Weilburg commissioned an urban palace in 1766. He was married to princess Carolina of Orange-Nassau. Stadholder William V of the Netherlands was his brother-in-law. Due to circumstances, the palace remained unfinished and was sold after all. Ever since the palace accommodates the Royal Theatre. One can visit the theatre when attending a performance.
