The House of Windsor was founded in 1917 by H.M. King George V of the United Kingdom.  The current head of the House is H.M. Charles III, King of the United Kingdom. 

The original name was the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, referring to the German origins. The House is related to the Royal House of Belgium and the House of Greece and Denmark.
