Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg

Perched on a hill, the castle of Haut-Koenigsbourg overlooks the Upper Rhine Plain, including the town of Sélestat and the French-German border. Once looted, the ruin attracted visitors, fascinated by its appearance. Renovations took place in the 19th century; some inaccuracies have been noted, but the castle has become one of the region's most popular attractions.
