The Acropolis of Lindos

The Acropolis of Lindos was built during the 9th century B.C. Hereby serving religious purposes, and additionally military purposes as well. The fortress location, perched on a high hill explains its purpose directly. It overlooks both land and sea. 

Due to this high location, accessibility for tourists is not typically easy. The climb to the Acropolis can be challenging, but rewards visitors with beautiful views. It may be rather the number of visitors which can slow down the trip. Therefore, do consider the moment of visiting this site. A climb during midday may not be favorable. 

The fortress provides plaques with information to get insights into its history. Visitors will enjoy the views for sure. It is a perfect location for some nice photos and videos.
