Palais Khuenburg

A former urban residence commissioned by the Von Schrattenbach family. Several families owned the residence afterwards, amongst others the Khuenburg family. In the 19th century, the Habsburg dynasty rented the residence. Archduke Franz Ferdinand was born in the residence. In 1918, the residence was bought by the municipality of Graz. The building served several purposes such as a girls' school. Since 1972, the residence hosts the Graz museum.
