Meet the Wittelsbach dynasty

The Wittelsbach dynasty may not reign Bavaria anymore, but you can still ‘find’ them in Bavaria and especially in München. Whether it is via photos and paintings, anecdotes at sites or when you visit burial sites in the city. After all, several churches accommodate crypts of several members of this illustrious family. Examples are the Institutskirche St. Michael and the Theatinerkirche at the Odeonsplatz.
